EQ550b AUv3 plug-in is available as a time-limited Demo version for users to evaluate. The demo version allows for 5 minutes of free play time, and it can be reloaded multiple times to extend the demo period. The full version of the EQ550b AUv3 plug-in is offered as an In-App Purchase.

Based on the classic American EQ from the late '60s, the EQ550b is a modern interpretation that pays homage to its historical significance in music recording. Featuring additional filter bands and new frequencies, the EQ550b offers a wide range of tonal variations, making it a versatile and professional audio tool with exceptional sonic capabilities.

The EQ550b offers a focused array of controls rather than overwhelming users with complexity. Its four overlapping EQ bands serve dual roles as problem solvers and sweetening tools, offering seven switchable filter frequencies in each band covering a musical range spanning four-to-five octaves.

The implementation of Proportional Q intelligently adjusts filter bandwidth based on settings, minimizing phase-shift artifacts commonly found in equalizers without the need for additional controls. This unique feature contributes to the EQ550b's musical and natural tonal character.

By expanding upon the features of the original hardware, the EQ550b bridges analog processing charm with digital world flexibility. Users can select between different equalizer modes (Stereo, Mid, Side) and toggle analogue saturation on or off to achieve varying sonic characteristics.

To utilize the EQ550b plug-in, users need an AUv3-compatible host application such as GarageBand, Auria, AUM, Cubasis, among others. The EQ550b plug-in will be accessible in the list of Audio Unit extensions within these host apps for easy integration into audio production workflows.
